Which celebrity would you love to dress?
I would love to dress the supremely elegant Queen Rania (of Jordan) in my Kashmiri opera jacket. I would also love to see the über-cool English model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whitely (best known for her work for Victoria’s Secret and Burberry, and also for her role as Carly Spencer in the 2011 film Transformers: Dark of the Moon) dressed in my western-wear. I will forever be in love with Madonna, a perennial favourite who looks amazing at 55, and can imagine her rock one of my snake chain dresses! She would also look great in my gold jumpsuit!
Do you wear any other label except for your own?
Locally, I only wear my own label SHEHLA. Of International designers I wear DKNY, Roberto Cavalli, Halston, Pucci, etc.
Which international labels do you covet?
I like Alber Elbaz at Lanvin for the drapes he creates, McQueen for its drama, Etro and Kenzo for its prints and Louboutin and Zanotti for killer heels.
Which local and foreign stores do you like for casual western day wear?
Locally I do not buy western wear. Internationally I like high street brands like Zara, H&M and Top Shop.
What have been your latest and most extravagant shopping splurges?
Apart from paintings for my new home, I became smitten by that famous crimson sole and indulged in few killer heels whilst in Paris. A girl can never have enough shoes! Other recent purchases include an Elongated Blood Croc Clutch from Bottega Veneta and a bright orange Feu Birkin which I had been on the waiting list for, amongst others.
Do you have an exercise regime to maintain your svelte figure?
I do not have any personal trainer nor do I go to a gym, I have a workout routine which I carry out at home. I know what works best for my body.
