Quarantine Blues: How Fashion Photographer Tapu Javeri Used His Time At Home To Create A Soapy Experience!

While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to wreak havoc around the globe, many patients who had tested positive for the virus chose to quarantine at their own homes to recuperate themselves back to health. One such name on the list was also the celebrated fashion photographer, Tapu Javeri.

However, Tapu’s quarantine was not as dull and dreary as the stories we hear of it. Instead, he chose to take that time to do something useful – which of course, kept him sane throughout it too – and that was, soaps!

Replacing his lenses and cameras with soaps and suds, the photographer ended up taking a new hobby.

“I was stuck in my house with COVID for 17 days and I almost went insane because I didn’t know what to do. For the first few days, I watched some films on Netflix. I needed to do something creative!” Tapu explained in a video. “Luckily, I had spoken to somebody about sending me candle supplies. The gentleman was kind enough to send it to my doorstep, and also added that ‘candles are fun but making soaps are even more satisfying.’ With that, I ended up online learning to how to make soaps.”

The photographer also spoke about how this could make for a great hobby and even a great way to make presents for the upcoming holidays and festivities!

If you are stuck at home with COVID, you could do the same!” Tapu said. “Find a hobby, and stick with it. If you don’t have one, learn to how to make candles and soaps! They make great presents, and with Christmas right around the corners, you will have gifts galore!”

So, what sort of soaps did we see Tapu making?

It all started with experimenting with the rusting melt & pour concept, where beautiful yellows and blues met into one!

It continued onto these ‘Faces in Suds’ which not only looks unique, but also adds to the exoticness of the soap!

The ever experimental Tapu even went on to make a Black Dot look awesome too!

For now, the latest we see on his insta feed is this Rainbow Baby Goodness, but we’re sure there must be so many more to see and enjoy!

So there you have it folks, now you have another inspirational thing to do while you stay locked down at home!

P.S. Tapu is making these as presents for his friends – and thus, are not for sale!
