9 things lawn brands need to stop doing

Lawn that was once ignored as the lesser of the fabrics has valiantly risen as a force to be reckoned with. For a country that harbors hot temperatures for good 10 months of the year definitely deserves a lighter fabric. Here are 9 things that we want all lawn brands to stop doing for a more convenient and easy breezy summer!

Giving a ton of patches

Patchwork has been so overdone. It adds costs of being appliqued and requires more aftercare. Yes, there should be festive options for more formal usage, but the brands should try to have embellishments and embroidery that is more convenient.

Being miserly with the cloth

The use or abuse of un-stitched fabric should be at the consumer’s discretion. There have been so many times that I’ve run out of length on my shirts. At least the premier brands that people pay big bucks for shouldn’t be stingy in this.

Pairing the same trouser with every dress

Honestly, how many white and black trousers can you expect one to have? Pairing every dress with either a white or a black trouser can get a little boring at times!

Naming the collections fancy names that people can’t even pronounce

Until and unless you’re selling your lawn jhoras to French people, there’s absolutely no need to give such elaborate names to your collection that your target audience can’t even pronounce. Try exploring the languages spoken in your own country maybe?

Being repetitive

To be very honest, we’re tired of seeing the same color schemes and prints being repeated again and again. I’ve seen so many brands literally copy a design they did a few years ago and just change the color scheme a little, NOT COOL.

See through fabric

I mean what’s the point of wearing lawn if you have to wear a camisole under it?

Trying too hard to be inclusive

When it comes to inclusivity in Pakistan, it’s either zero or a hundred, with nothing in between. About time these brands take a good look at their target audience and realize that you don’t need to go all out on blackface. All people asked for was inclusion of people of all colors, shapes and sizes, but nope. Its either a pale model or blackface, its either a really chubby model or an almost starved one, whatever happened to the normal body types that fall in between?

Unrealistic stitching

Imagine buying a dress solely because of the way it looks in pictures, flare-y, long, having 20 panels, oooof! And then ending up with barely enough kapra to make a normal length shirt. If you’re giving away 2.5m or 2.75m cloth, stop advertising designs that require triple the amount of fabric.

Shooting against white back drops

You’re charging so much from the customers, the least you can do is put some effort into the location that you’re shooting your campaign at. Shooting against a white back drop looks bland and takes away from the clothes.

  1. Omg thats very good..finally someone talked about it..i always wondered how people wear those lawn suits that are not even comfortable and way expensice too much..everyone should take note..

  2. One more thing that lawn brands should stop doing is pairing a lawn jora with a Net embroidered Duppata. It becomes unbearable in scorching heat. Kayseria does it with their lawn suits.

  3. 1 ,Plz apni models ko puray kapry penain. Drop shoulder shirts nd high botoms ki pakistani aam awam ma koi jga nhi ha. Am ourat kabhi asa libas pehn k bahir nhi ja skti ti ap apni Modl ko asy alien kapry ku pehnaty hain..
2, Nd plz lawn suit ki price ko kam rakhain 8000 tk ka suit bhi ak season hi pena jay ga. Or uski value bhi us qakt kam ho jati ha jab agly hi din uski copy a jati Ha.

  4. Try to add not all the dark colours in one fabric means it looks more like a rainbow 🌈!the colours should be soft and subtle in order to give a soothing effect to eyes instead nowadays it gives a bad itch to mine i say…..!

  5. I would like to add few words here:
    • Lawn brands should stop over-editing if pictures which leads to color difference of actual dress. Or they should stop online facility to avoid this color confusion
    • Lawn brands should have reasonable models & their poses like Zara Shahjahan is doing. Simple dress, simple posing, simple location. They should stop making people fantasize about looking so good as models in shoots
    • Last but not the least, have mercy on us especially people of middle or lower middle class. Just a simple 3-piece dress you like costs you more than 5000.

  6. Agree with you 👍 hopefully brands do some thing about it. Especially about patches secondly about white and black shalwar 🙄😔

  7. They should pay their taxes by their own apply to their customers because alraeady they are taking too much money for even a simple print which they are repeating for decades.

  8. Can’t agree more, specially unrealistic stitching. But I also think they should change the photography themes and too much drama, like zara shajaha did “dhoop kinarae”. That theme was good but that was perfect for winter collection pakistan ki garmi my kon rooftop py jata hy bhae.. now they are all into heritage and giving hum tv dramas type name to lawn collections. It’s boring and too artificial.

  9. Please please stop hiring skinny models.Every woman is not zero size so please stop show casing dresses on zero size models and 1 more thing please reduce the prices if we have to pay 4000- 8000 for a lawn dress than how can a middle or low class people buy formal or party wear with huge price. Every woman wants to buy branded dress but prices are touching the sky and lower middle class can’t even afford that price. A simple stitched shirt is for rupees round about 3000 rupees. Loot maar machai huwi

  10. I just had the same things in my mind from a longggggg time ago…..you became the voice 👏👏👏👏of so many ladies

  11. Stop adding thousands of beads, and stones that cost more than the suit itself!!!! Or provide the fancy beads and buttons.

  12. Yess.. Finally someone says it… All these things are really annoying.. should be fixed..

  13. The point i liked the most is ” see through fabric,” i m kind a person who like to be relax n exactly as u said, whats the use of lawn if it needs camesile…🤔
The point i wanna raise is the” prices…
Secondly, plx think differently…. Introduce some good designs… V cant even differentiate the prints now (from one brand to the other) all are almost using the same prints n color schemes…

  14. One more thing …plx sale k naam pe logon ko dhoka dena band karen…. Dikha kuch or deten hen bhaj kuch or deytey hen..😡😠😡
