The continuous lockdown means that everyone has quite a lot of time on their hands and that finally brings an opportunity to catch up on all that is airing on Pakistani television at this point – and boy, there’s so much!
From riveting episodes in some to others leaving us with a few questions and lots of emotions, there’s much to see right now, and we are hooked to three television channels and their dramas – ARY, GEO and HUM for all that they have to offer.
Which dramas do we have our eyes glued to? Diva has the lowdown…
Pyar Ke Sadqay – HUM
Starring Yumna Zaidi, Bilal Abbas, Atiqa Odho, Umair Rana, and Yashma Gill amongst others, this drama by Zanjabeel Asim Shah has become one of the most prominent on our television sets at this point! There’s romance and drama together, and nothing beats that classic combination.
Meherposh – GEO
The first time that real-life couple Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan star in a drama after their marriage, Meherposh has been one of the most awaited shows to hit the screens. The duo looks better than ever and both fit their characters quite well.
Ishqiya – ARY
Probably one of the last few shows that Feroze Khan did before he announced that he is quitting the showbiz industry, Ishqiya starring the actor, Hania Amir and Ramsha Khan has been making quite the rounds amidst avid television fans! The show has had a spark to it and for now, it’s keeping fans satiated!
Sabaat – HUM
A show that has kept fans exploring the different social classes and their portrayals, Sabaat has gotten its fair share of popularity through its last few episodes. The show stars Mawra Hocane, Osman Mukhtar, Ameer Gilani, and Sarah Khan, amongst others and is definitely one to watch out for.
Kahin Deep Jalay – GEO
The show that has enjoyed some great heights since its airing, Kahin Deep Jalay is truly one of Imran Ashraf and Neelam Munir’s best shows to run. Both have really kept the fans on the edge of their seats and the show has become one of the most loved on television right now.
Ghalati – ARY
Affan Waheed and Hira Mani are probably two television stars who have managed to surprisingly carve out their niche fan base perfectly in the last few years, and dramas like Ghalati have really helped. The show is riveting, to say the least, and that’s why it makes for good television!
Yeh Dil Mera – HUM
There’s no couple in the Pakistani entertainment industry who is as loved and obsessed over than that of Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir, and Yeh Dil Mera just adds to that! The drama revolves around a dramatic exploration of two opposite people falling in love and that just makes for classic tv!
Deewangi – GEO
Danish Taimoor has made quite the space for himself on television currently, and his successful shows are a proof! Here, he stars in the 7th Sky Entertainment production alongside Hiba Bukhari, and the show has managed to be quite the head-turner.
Mera Dil Mera Dushman – ARY
Yet another drama that stars a real0-life couple, Alizeh shah and Noman Sami’s Mera Dil Mera Dushman has been garnering quite the popularity since it has aired. However, due to the COVID-19 lockdown and its subsequent effect on production, the show has gone to a weekly formant from a daily.
Kashf – HUM
A show that is mixing a unique angle to the saas-bahu dramatics, Kashf is a great new addition to the dramas on air right now. It stars Hira Mani and Junaid Khan in the lead, and both the stars have managed to explore their acting repertoire in the show! Now, we’re just waiting to see what’s ahead here in the story of the eponymous Kashf!
Jhooti – ARY
A drama that started laden with controversies, Iqra Aziz’s Jhooti has since then managed to make a number of fans as it goes on. The show, which is an interesting exploration of a compulsive liar, has layers to it, and for many, that has been a reason to watch.
Khoobseerat – GEO
A daily soap that has managed to win the fans over massively, the Agha Ali, Nimra Khan and Kiran Haq starrer, Khoobseerat has become quite the rage. The show has many interesting plotlines and as the episodes continue, it becomes even more gripping!
