Clash of the Titans: Which film made it big this Eid?

With three major films releasing on Eid-ul-Azha, we all knew it would be a major clash of the titans. Be it Heer Maan Ja or Parey Hut Love with their mix of comedy and romance, or a romantic drama like Superstar, all three flicks tried their luck with the fans and only one emerged victorious.

Heer Maan Ja

According to reports by Entertainment Pakistan, the Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan starrer, Heer Maan Ja, remains at third position with a business of about PKR 5.7 Crore in the last 10 days or so. However, on the flip side, the team behind the film has also released their numbers and have claimed to have made PKR 7 Crore in just seven days.

The film, which is a directorial by Azfar Jafri, managed to win hearts over with its comedy, but due to the other two films comprising ensemble casts, HMJ couldn’t shine through enough.

Parey Hut Love

A film with dazzling production design and great music, Parey Hut Love remains on a strong position after the first ten days of the film’s release. According to reports by Entertainment Pakistan, the film has grossed PKR 10.5 Crore and remains a top contender this year for becoming one of the highest grossing films of 2019. However, according to numbers shared by the team, the film has grossed PKR 12.15 Crore.

In many ways, the film gave Superstar a tough time at the box office, and may be considered to be at the number one position.

 

Superstar

With a star cast like Mahira Khan and Bilal Ashraf, who are the envy of the industry for their sizzling looks, helming the project, Superstar managed to shine extra bright this Eid. The film has managed to become a hit with the masses and reportedly grossed PKR 11.5 Crore in its running up until now.

Now, one has to see how the film manages to retain its position amongst tough competition from not just Pakistani films but also the international releases.
