LSA 2021: Here’s Who We Think Will Win & Should Take The Entertainment Awards Home!

The 20th annual Lux Style Awards are all set to take place over the weekend – in a more SOP controlled manner – and the buzz around them is as usual, strong and frenzy-like. Every fan out there has taken out the names they would think should win this time, and once again, we see LSAs taking over our conversations vis-a-vis predictions and expected results.

But, as they say, it’s never over until the fat lady sings, right? So, we thought it’s highly important we choose our favourites too this time, as well add to the predictions pool by choosing who we believe should and would take the gilded troops home!

Who can be the big winners according to Diva and who do we should take them home? We have the lowdown…

Best TV Serial

Alif – Sana Shahnawaz, Samina Humayun Saeed and Amjad Rasheed
Deewangi – 7th Sky Entertainment
Ehd-e-Wafa – Momina Duraid and ISPR
Pyar Ke Sadqay – Momina Duraid and Moomal Shunaid
Raaz-e-Ulfat – 7th Sky Entertainment
Sabaat – Momina Duraid
Yeh Dil Mera – Momina Duraid

The most coveted award when it comes to those who love watching their favourite dramas, the Best TV Serial category is definitely hotly-contested this time around. Be it Alif, Ehd-e-Wafa, and Pyar Ke Sadkay or Deewangi, Raaz-e-Ulfat, Sabaat, and, Yeh Dil Mera, each has a strong potential given that they all had unique narratives. But, what our heart says is that Deewangi’s probably taking it home given that is more than 405 million views on YouTube, while we think Alif should win!

Will win: Deewangi
Should win: Alif

Best TV Director

Farooq Rind for Pyar Ke Sadqay
Haseeb Hasan for Alif
Saife Hasan for Ehd-e-Wafa
Siraj ul Haq for Raaz-e-Ulfat
Zeeshan Ahmed for Deewangi

Each director behind these successful dramas has proven their skills time and again, and we don’t think it’s going to be an easy decision. Be it Farooq Rind or Haseeb Hassan, both have praised for their work on these projects. While on the other hand, names like Saife Hasan, Siraj Ul Haq and Zeeshan Ahmed have been touted as possible winners too. Who could take it all home? We believe it could go to Saife Hasan for Ehd-e-Wafa, but we definitely think Haseeb Hasan deserves it more for Alif.

Will win: Saife Hasan for Ehd-e-Wafa
Should win: Haseeb Hasan for Alif

Best TV Writer

Farhat Ishtiaq for Yeh Dil Mera
Maha Malik for Raaz-e-Ulfat
Mustafa Afridi for Ehd-e-Wafa
Umera Ahmed for Alif
Zanjabeel Asim Shah for Pyar Ke Sadqay

Much like the race for the award between directors, the TV writer category has some strong names going head to head. Out of all 5, we strongly believe the competition is going to be between three names – Farhat Ishtiaq, Umera Ahmed and Zanjabeel Asim Shah. But, who will win? Well, our sixth sense says it’s going to be Zanjabeel for Pyar Ke Sadqay, but we hope that it is Umera Ahmed for Alif!

Will win: Zanjabeel Asim for Pyar Ke Sadqay
Should win: : Umera Ahmed for Alif

Best Female Actor – Viewer’s Choice

Ayeza Khan for Meherposh
Hiba Bukhari for Deewangi
Mawra Hocane for Sabaat
Saboor Ali for Fitrat
Sajal Ali for Alif
Yumna Zaidi for Pyar Ke Sadqay
Yumna Zaidi for Raaz-e-Ulfat

Viewers choice is always those few categories where the fans can have their say in the biggest of ways, and this time they surely are spoilt for choice. There are names like Ayeza Khan, Hiba Bukhari, Mawra Hocane, Saboor & Sajal Ali, and Yumna Zaidi in the running and it’s not an easy choice to make. But we feel out of all of them, the winner might be Ayeza Khan, whereas it definitely should be going to Yumna Zaidi for Pyar Ke Sadqay!

Will win: Ayeza Khan for Meherposh
Should win: Yumna Zaidi for Pyar Ke Sadqay

Best Female Actor – Critics

Hira Mani for Kashf
Mawra Hocane for Sabaat
Sajal Ali for Alif
Urwa Hocane for Mushk
Yumna Zaidi for Pyar Ke Sadqay

The critics awards seem to be carefully curated this time around – which always is a relief, and amongst the names of actresses like Hira Mani, Mawra Hocane, Sajal Ali, Urwa Hocane and Yumna Zaidi, it’s hard to choose one winner. But, our prediction is that it will be a win for Sajal Ali and we are all for it!

Will win: Sajal Ali for Alif
Should win: Sajal Ali for Alif

Best Male Actor – Viewer’s Choice

Ahad Raza Mir for Ehd-e-Wafa
Ahad Raza Mir for Yeh Dil Mera
Bilal Abbas for Pyar Ke Sadqay
Danish Taimoor for Deewangi
Faysal Quraishi for Muqaddar
Hamza Ali Abbasi for Alif
Imran Ashraf for Kahin Deep Jalay

Similar to the situation amongst actresses in the viewer’s choice category, the actors too are a dime a dozen. We have Ahad Raza Mir, Bilal Abbas, Danish Taimoor, Faysal Quraishi, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Imran Ashraf in the running and it’s definitely not going to be an easy task to pick out a winner. But, we feel that it will go to Ahad Raza Mir for Ehd-e-Wafa. But, we would also be grateful if it goes to Hamza Ali Abbasi too.

Will win: Ahad Raza Mir for Ehd-e-Wafa
Should win: Hamza Ali Abbasi for Alif

Best Male Actor – Critics

Ahad Raza Mir for Ehd-e-Wafa
Ahad Raza Mir for Yeh Dil Mera
Bilal Abbas for Pyar Ke Sadqay
Faysal Quraishi for Muqaddar
Hamza Ali Abbasi for Alif

There’s always a hard decision when it comes to choosing the critic’s choice for best actor and this time it’s no easy job once again. We have Ahad Raza Mir nominated twice, Bilal Abbas, Faysal Quraishi and Hamza Ali Abbasi in the running, and it’s a toughie. But, all said and done, we think it’ll be Hamza Ali Abbasi’s award from the critics. Although we think Bilal Abbas should take it home.

Will win: Hamza Ali Abbasi for Alif
Should win: Bilal Abbas for Pyar Ke Sadqay

Best Emerging Talent in TV

Adnan Samad Khan for Ehd-e-Wafa
Ameer Gillani for Sabaat
Daniyal Afzal for Raaz-e-ulfat
Dur-e-Fishan Saleem for Dilruba
Nazish Jahangir for Kahin Deep Jaley
Pehlaaj Hassan for Alif
Sehar Khan for Mushk

There was a number of talent that debuted on our TV sets over the last year and a half and they definitely deserve their fair share of recognition. We have Adnan Sami Khan, Ameer Gillani, Daniyal Afzal, Dur-e-Fishan, Nazish Jahangir, Pehlaaj Hassan, and Sehar Khan in the running, which could make it a tough choice to choose just one winner. Our prediction says Ameer Gillani will take it home, but we do have a soft corner for Pehlaaj Hassan and hope he could take it home.

Will win: Ameer Gillani for Sabaat
Should win: Pehlaaj Hassan for Alif

Alif Bas, sung by Momina Mustehsan and Shuja Haider, composed by Shuja Haider in Alif

Ehd-e-Wafa k Naam Kiya, sung and composed by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in Ehd-e-Wafa

O Zaalim, sung by Sahir Ali Bagga and Aima Baig, composed by Sahir Ali Bagga in Fitrat

Pyar Ke Sadqay, sung by Ahmed Jahanzaib, Alia Khan and Mahnoor Khan, composed by Ahmed Jahanzaib in Pyar Ke Sadqay

Yehi Tou Raaz-e-Ulfat Hai, sung by Aima Baig and Shani Arshad, composed by Shani Arshad in Raaz-e-Ulfat

Zindagi Paheli Hai, sung by Ali Sethi, composed by Naveed Nashad in Sabaat

OSTs usually become one of the most revered and coveted categories within the entertainment nominations, and this time it’s no different. There are a number of big names this time around, but there are some that have exceeded all expectations. Thus, we feel the award should and would go to Raaz-e-Ulfat as its numbers are across the roof. Just the OST itself boasts 55 million views, which is about 42 million more than its next competitor!

Will win: Raaz-e-Ulfat
Should win: Raaz-e-Ulfat
