Fahad Hussayn Unveils His New Studio With A Private Viewing in Karachi — 5 Things That Blew Us Away!

By Hida Hashmi

Since the start of the year, Fahad Hussayn has been hinting and teasing something that would mark a new milestone for his brand. Many speculated, some even gave up — because with Fahad, it’s better to be blown away than try to predict the outcome (which, frankly, would still surprise us).

This month, the brand celebrated for its artful innovation and spellbinding design finally put an end to the mystery by announcing the opening of its new studio in Karachi. Known to many as the Fahad Hussayn Academy, this enriching space — located in the heart of E-Street — whimsically unites art, culture, and fashion in ways that has become the talk of the town .

Here are five reasons why this launch has us talking:

1. The Interior

It comes as no surprise that Fahad Hussayn never ceases to amaze — and this time, each room left us more speechless than the last. Hand-worked windows and pelmets reminiscent of old Lahore, tasteful and subliminally beautiful colour schemes, and eclectic corners imbued with Fahad’s signature touch make the space feel like stepping into a living artwork.

Every wall is adorned with treasures collected over the last decade — from Wedgwood plates and Cupids to vintage rugs and whimsical tapestries. Karachi’s interior scene just got a bold new player, and we’ve officially been served.

2. The Chandeliers

Each chandelier is more elaborate and expressive than the last — the icing on this already exquisite cake. Some are locally sourced from Peshawar and transformed into bejewelled marvels; others are crafted with makhanas and turquoise stones accented by sharp gold detailing, embodying a kind of exalted Sufi kitsch.

Several chandeliers were designed by Fahad himself, thoughtfully placed to match the soul of each room. The top floor features sea-inspired pieces adorned with silver-leafed shells and natural pearls — Fahad’s ode to Karachi. Simply magnificent.

3. The Message

While the space is visually breathtaking, what truly sets it apart is the message it carries. When asked what the Fahad Hussayn Academy represents, Fahad said:

“This is my sanctum. A place where all four of my brands co-exist in their own separate entireties. But this isn’t only a place of retail and commerce. I’ve poured every ounce of energy I have into this Academy because I want the future generations of artists to be nurtured and inspired here. My goal is for classes to be taught here. For art connoisseurs and artists to feel at home, to create and keep creating. We have far too many blank canvases — and I just got tired of seeing the paleness.”

This vision transforms the space from a store into a sanctuary.

4. The Clothes. The Pieces. The Designs.

Once you’ve marvelled at the interiors, your eyes inevitably land on the stars of the show — the clothes. Fahad Hussayn is known for creating pieces that harmoniously reflect his brand’s identity without overcomplicating design. It’s a philosophy that has kept his four brands thriving as distinct yet connected creative worlds.

“These four brands are like my children. My aim is to enrich them with visionary design and creativity, where they remain bold and fearless,” Fahad shared, gliding effortlessly through the studio’s threshold.

Mannequins were dressed in his signature creations — each telling its own story. From the finesse of Couture (by appointment only) to the inventiveness of Faction and Print Museum, and the enchanting sparkle of Menagerie’s jewels, every piece was a chapter in a living archive of art and fashion.

5. A Place Where People Unite and Celebrate

To mark the moment, Fahad invited his closest circle for an exclusive private preview. The evening was filled with audible gasps, laughter, and wonder as guests explored the space room by room, each corner sparking fresh admiration.

From the legendary Maheen Khan — who graced the event with her pioneering presence — to the brilliant Rehan Bashir, the guest list featured celebrated artists, designers, journalists, models, publicists, and more. The night felt less like an opening and more like a celebration of Karachi’s creative soul.

LAST WORD
The official opening of the Fahad Hussayn Academy is set for later this month — and we’re at the edge of our seats with anticipation. It’s safe to say that Karachi’s fashion landscape has just been reborn.
