Bringing the old school trends back!

Old school is gold school, bruh!

Old school weddings dating back to the pre-partition times have been a theme in most of the campaigns we’ve seen this year and we’re loving them. Not only in the campaigns but even celebrities have been rocking the traditional bride attire at their weddings now, yayyy! Here’s how you can rock traditional formals, semi-formals and casual wear too!

1. Shalwars are back

They’re comfy, they’re easy and they look really classy. Pair your favourite shirts regardless of their lengths with any shalwar style you prefer, wear minimal jhumkis and bam!

2. Angrakhas

Nothing looks more traditional than an angrakha, to me personally, it gives me them Mughal feels and looks absolutely stunning on all body types paired with the classic tang, chooridaar pajama.

3. Ghararas

Sharara styles may keep changing, gharara pants might have been a trend for a brief time, but the classic ghararas are evergreen, EVER-FREAKIN-GREEN! Long shirt, short shirt, asymmetrical shirt, peplum, literally any shirt would look great on a gharara.

4. Heavy Dupattas

Dupattas are back, and they’re nothing but stunning! Cut work kaam on the borders is making a strong come back and so are heavily embellished dupattas. Organza and chunri dupattas are shining this season but we recommend you do you: choose whatever fabric and detailing appeals to you and let them drape from your shoulder.

5. Plain Shirts

There’s only so much you can do with plain shirts, if you’re looking for ideas then let us remind you of how gorgeous Imaan Ali looked on her wedding. Choose a colour that defines you best and get the cut and stitching right to outshine all the brides you’ve ever come across!

6. Statement Jewellery

It’s here and it’s here to stay! You can literally take any outfit from 5 to a solid 10 when paired with the right jewellery. Big chunky earrings, oversized teekas and sath-larras are having a big moment this year.

7. Natural Makeup

Today’s bride wants to look as natural and as effortlessly beautiful as it can be. Monochromatic looks are pretty in these days paired with a flawless and luminous complexion and soft eyes. Say goodbye to double stacked lashes and coloured liners and make kohl-ed eyes your friend!
