Links International School opened its gates not just to parents and students, but to the world. In a heartwarming celebration of culture, identity and togetherness, the school hosted an event that turned the campus into a vibrant tapestry of traditions, food, flags and stories from across the globe. More than just a school fair, Global Village was a beautiful reminder of what makes us different and yet so connected.

The magic of the event came to life through the students themselves. Each stall at the Global Village represented a different country and behind each one stood passionate, curious young minds who had spent weeks researching, creating and preparing to bring that country to life. From dressing in traditional clothing to cooking authentic dishes and sharing fun facts and cultural traditions, the students didn’t just study different nations, they embodied them.
One of the most powerful moments of the day was when dignitaries and representatives from 19 different countries arrived on campus to unveil their respective country’s stall. Their presence brought a sense of real-world connection and recognition to the students’ efforts. It was moving to see both ambassadors and students proudly introduce their country stall which added to the merriment and celebration.
Links International School, which follows the Oxford system and is affiliated with COBIS (Council of British International Schools), has always emphasized global citizenship and student-led initiatives. But Global Village went a step further so it turned learning into a celebration, and children into cultural ambassadors.

Parents, staff and guests moved from stall to stall with wonder in their eyes. From Japanese origami to Malaysian colors all the way to the spice-laden aromas of Pakistani cuisine and much more, every corner of the campus pulsed with color, sound and stories. For many, it wasn’t just educational, it was emotional. It was a reminder that children are not only the future, but also incredibly capable of bridging gaps that adults often struggle to.
Perhaps the most beautiful takeaway from the event was the joy. The joy of discovery. The joy of representation. The joy of being seen and heard. Children from different backgrounds found themselves learning about each other’s cultures, not through lessons, but through laughter, shared meals and dancing together.
Global Village was more than an event. It was a living, breathing experience of inclusion, diversity, and respect. In a world that often feels divided, what happened at Links International School last weekend was a glimpse of the world we all hope to build, one where every culture is celebrated, and every child gets to shine.
And if that future is in the hands of the students at Links, it looks incredibly bright.
